Maureen Nelia Hingert

Maureen Naliya Hingart is the first Sri Lankan beauty queen to win international cinema. Maureen Nelia Hingart won the Miss Sri Lanka pageant in 1995 and represented Sri Lanka at the Miss Universe pageant. She won the third place for Sri Lanka in that competition and it is the only time in the history of Sri Lanka that Sri Lanka has ever won a Miss Universe pageant. Before her, Manel Illangakoon won fourth place in the Miss World pageant. Hingart later starred in several Hollywood films and became the first Sri Lankan beauty queen to star in a number of popular Hollywood productions.
