🙏 ‎Gatabaru Raja Maha Viharaya‎🙏

It is located on a beautiful small rock between Morawaka and Deniyaya in the Akurassa - Deniyaya road. Because of the god Gatabaru ( a god known as Gatabaru ) people come to pray and offer sacrifices. This is a temple where monks reside and it is called " Gatabaru Raja MAha Viharaya". 

The Esala perahera held on annually by the temple. it is the second largest perahera in the Matara District. To reach the temple,  people have to climb a mountain, and also it is called " punchi siripadaya" by some people. The gold casket  is displayed in a glass room in the  Temple lane.
